General Introduction of Pattaya, Thailand

Pattaya and Rayong are cities in Thailand, a beach resort popular with tourists and expatriates. It is located on the east coast of the Gulf of Thailand, about 165-180 km southeast of Bangkok.

Just over one hour from Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport, Pattaya and Rayong are lively beaches that draw visitors from around the world. With activities that include a wide array of water sports, golf, shopping, cabaret shows, an elephant village, and fascinating museums, it’s impossible not to have an action-packed Pattaya holiday. Pattaya is certainly a Thai beach resort that meets the needs of any visitor on any budget.

Transportation

Organizing Committee will arrange the round trip from airport – accommodation at 80  USD/person, the local transportation from the hotel to the venue and also return during the event will be included in the official accommodation costing.

Official Accommodation and Meals:

Kantary Hotel, Ban chang will be the official accommodation. Bookings should be made through the Organizing Committee by 15 July 2022.

  • Due to the COVID-19 prevention regulations of Thailand, please kindly contact directly to the Thai Embassy located in your country for the updated information. OC: RCAT will also send the list of participants who are involved in the events to the Thai Consular Department for your convenience, nevertheless you must also contact the Embassy or Consulate directly yourself as usual.   • The preventive COVID -19 measures.
    1. All participants must be fully vaccinated with 2 doses of a COVID-19 vaccination recognized and approved by the Thai Government and please prepare the officially approved Vaccination Certificiate from your government.
    2. Every participant must also apply “Thailand Pass” by yourself before travelling.
    3. Please be reminded if any passenger onboard the same flight who is infected with COVID – 19 and considered a close contact of a delegation member by Thailand ‘s medical unit at the airport, may not be allowed to participate as designated in the schedule above.

OC will propose “Mixed Double Scull” as a demonstration event. Confirmation and further details will be released in Bulletin No.2.

The Asian Rowing Para Championship will consist of the following:

Men PR1M1x ,  PR2 M1x
Women PR1W1x , PR2 W1x
Mixed PR2 MIX 2x , PR3 MIX 2x, PR3 MIX 4+

Teams are strongly advised not to make double-up entries for athletes or crews or share equipment in the same Group. Teams doing so make such entries entirely at their own risk and no changes to the race schedule will be made to accommodate double entries in the same group.

Provisional Schedule:

Please note that the official provisional schedule will be released when OC receive the entrie by number and events from MFs. Furthermore, all MFs please kindly send boat booking requirements to Swift Racing as the designated deadline.

OC may have rights to cancel the events which not enough entry or boats for participating in the Championships. In case there are less than 6 MFs participating the Championships and less than 3 boats in the race, will be cancelled.

Entries:

Preliminary Entry by number is due by 15 July 2022 and Final Entry by name is due by
30 September 2022
and must include the events to be entered, the total number of athletes in the team, and the number of officials accompanying the team.

The completed Final Entry must include all necessary information for each crew, including name with date of birth of each athlete, all team members and substitutes and officials.

Entry Forms are attached to this Bulletin. These should be filled in and forwarded to the Organizing Committee, with a copy to ARF headquarters, by the stipulated date.

Boats and Equipment: 

  1. All boats and other equipment must comply with FISA Rules of Racing.
  2. Participating teams will be encouraged to bring their own boats and oars if possible. Official boat supplier, Swift Racing, will provide boats for participants if they are unable to bring own material.
  3. If you do not bring own boats, you should contact Swift Racing, the official Supplier for boat and oar rental, as soon as posisible. The deadline for requesting rental is 18 July 2022.

    Single scull (1x) 60 USD/boat/day
    Double scull (2x) and Pair (2-) 70 USD/boat/day

Oars rental:

Each team is highly recommended to bring their own oars and sculls as the blades of all oars/sculls must be painted on both sides in the colors of the respective Federations.

If you need to rent oars and sculls the rate is $100/pair of scull, $120/pair of sweep, for the event.
