  1. General Introduction of Qingdao, China

In November, Qingdao has pleasant sea breezes and a favorable climate. The event location is Tangdaowan Park, located in the Qingdao West Coast New Area.Tangdaowan Park has excellent natural conditions and a beautiful environment, featuring vast and high-quality inner bay waters. Qingdao West Coast New Area is a national level new area, also a key development area in Shandong Province and aims to create a new significant area of Shandong Province. The new area location is in the ShanDong Peninsula Oceanic Economic Zone and the Bohai Economic Rim. The people of the Qingdao West Coast New Area have a high acceptance and participation in water sports, making it very suitable for the development and promotion of coastal rowing sports. 2.1 Competition Dates: 11th -12th November 2023

2.2 Competition Venue: Tangdaowan Park, located in the Qingdao West Coast New Area (No. 674 Lijiang West Road, Huangdao District, Qingdao City, Shandong Province)

Master(A/B/C/D Age Definition)

All Athlete’s age shall be old than 27.

Group A: Average age is between 27-35

Group B: Average age is between 36-42

Group C: Average age is between 43-49

Group D: Average age is old than 50

  • Coxswains are not subject to age and gender restrictions.
  • Athletes can only represent one organization when registering for the competition and must provide valid identification documents for participation and training, such as ID cards, passports, Hong Kong and Macao residents’ permits for traveling to mainland China, Taiwan residents’ permits for traveling to mainland China, etc. In case of disputes over an athlete’s eligibility, if the dispute is verified after reporting, their qualification and results will be canceled, and any awarded medals, certificates, etc., will be retrieved. Each participating team is responsible for their own registration and event entries and must strictly adhere to the regulations.
  • There is no limit to the number of boats each participating team can register. Each athlete is limited to entering a maximum of 2 events, and each team may register up to 3 substitute athletes.
  • Each athlete can only register for one long-distance event.
  • In mixed-gender events, female rowers must constitute no less than 50% of the crew.
  • Coxswain weight follows the relevant rules of the World Rowing Competition.
  • Each participating team must wear uniform competition attire, and each athlete’s name in Pinyin should be printed on the front of the competition attire.

2.5 Entries

  • Teams should be organized on a national/club basis, There shall be no limit on entries of club crews per national federation, but entries must be submitted through the national federation concerned. Entry is due to 26 October 2023.does not charge an entry fee.
  • All participants must provide medical certificates from hospitals of Level Two or above to prove their physical health.
  • Each team can register 1 team leader, 3 coaches, 1 team doctor, and an unlimited number of athletes participating in multiple events (multiple events should follow the competition schedule
  • Entry Forms Final Entries are attached to this Bulletin. These should be filled in and forwarded to the Organizing Committee, with a copy to ARF headquarters, by the stipulated date
  • Three hours before the pre-race joint meeting and team leaders’ meeting (draw), each participating team must make final confirmation of their team’s event entries and roster. After the draw confirmation, participating teams are only allowed to withdraw from races or make substitutions due to injury (meeting age group criteria, with a medical certificate, and considering the replacement athlete’s participation in multiple events), but changes to categories or events are not allowed.
  • If there is only one boat registered for a particular event, that event will be canceled.

2.6 Competition Rules

  • The competition will follow the latest competition rules of the International Rowing Federation (FISA) and the specific competition regulations of this event.
  • This event will use a one-time final format, and all 2.8-kilometer and 6-kilometer race events will take place on the sea. The starting and finishing points of the races will be on the sea.
  • This event will use shared boats and oars provided by the Organizing Committee. The boats and oars used by each participating team will be assigned through a random draw by the Organizing Committee.
  • All participating boats must register at the check-in area before going into the water, and they should also report to the check-in area after the boat members have gone into the water.
  • Coxswains must undergo weigh-ins 1-2 hours before the race.
  • The starting line can accommodate a maximum of 12 boats departing simultaneously.
  • In order to be ranked in the final results, all athletes must complete the entire race course following the correct direction specified by the Organizing Committee. Athletes who fail to complete the entire designated course set by the Organizing Committee will not be included in the rankings, and their race results will be recorded as DNF (Did Not Finish).
  • Penalty buoys will be placed at suitable locations on the sea course. Athletes who violate the competition rules, regulations, or cause significant interference to other participating boats may be subject to penalties determined by the referees. They must complete the penalty buoy round before reaching the finish line.
  • In the event of adverse weather conditions or other circumstances that affect the safety of athletes and officials on the water or the fairness of the race course, a decision to postpone, reschedule, cancel the race, or change the race course may be made after consultation with the Chief Umpire and the Organizing Committee.

  1. BOATS & equipment

The Organizing Committee provide international quality boats and sculls suitable for men and women for Pool Boat and Pool Oars in each event. Teams are not allowed to bring their own boat and oars. All teams shall use the free boats and oars provided by the Organizing Committee.

All boats and other equipment are comply with FISA Rules of Racing.
