  • Dedication to Rowing: President Chen Chunxin Awards Admiral Chainarong Charoenruk with ARF Medal of Honor

On December 16, 2023, ARF President Chen Chunxin awarded the Medal of Honor to Admiral Chainarong Charoenruk, President of the Rowing and Canoeing Association of Thailand. The award recognized his remarkable dedication and contributions to rowing.

Admiral Chainarong Charoenruk’s impactful journey began as Chair of ARF’s Development Committee (2014-2018) and continued as ARF President (2018-2022). During his tenure, he navigated challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic, successfully organizing numerous events like the Asian Rowing Championships for Seniors, Junior U19, Cup, Masters, Coastal, Beach Sprint, ANOC WR Beach Sprint Qualifiers for World Beach Games 2023, Asian Rowing Indoor Championships, and the Asian Rowing Indoor Virtual Championship Qualifiers for WR Indoor Championship. Meanwhile, Thailand’s rowing is progressing rapidly and achieving excellent results.

Despite concluding his presidency in 2022, Admiral Chainarong Charoenruk continued to offer steadfast support for Asian rowing. Particularly notable was the prompt action taken by him and his team when the initially attributed host city abruptly canceled the 2023 Asian Rowing Junior & U-23 Championships. They promptly took on the responsibility of hosting the championship. Within the tight timeframe, they efficiently organized and successfully hosted the events. This not only provided athletes with a platform to continue showcasing their strength, skills, and pursuit of dreams but also demonstrated the sense of responsibility and enduring commitment to the sport exhibited by Admiral Chainarong Charoenruk and his team during these critical moments.
