KOREAN ROWING ASSOCIATION – NATIONAL COACH POSITION
The Korean Rowing Association (“KRA”) is the National Governing Body for rowing in South Korea. KRA are now seeking a highly motivated and experienced full-time rowing coach to join our National high-performance programme, preparing for the 2026 Asian Games.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reporting to the Chair of Competition Committee, the Coach will be responsible to:-
- Coordinate, design, and implement training programmes for rowing athletes in Korea and during training and competition periods overseas;
- Fully utilize and integrate scientific, medical and other athlete support services into the training programme to enhance high performance training outcomes;
- Monitor athlete performance and technical development through comprehensive, multi-method assessment and evaluation;
- Provide regular critically analysed progress reports to the KRA;
- Supervise assistant coaches or other support staff if required by KRA;
- Assist the KRA with coach education or local development programmes; and
- Perform any other appropriate coaching duties as assigned by KRA.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- University degree or its equivalent, ideally in a sport-related subject;
- Holder of valid rowing coaching certification or diploma;
- A minimum of 5 years’ professional coaching experience and proven record of achievement in coaching rowing athletes at international level;
- Excellent communication, leadership and interpersonal skills;
- High level of computer literacy;
- Ability to inspire and motivate athletes of varying levels of ability;
- Awareness/knowledge of Safeguarding and athlete welfare in sport:
- Holder of a valid driving license would be an advantage.
