   Beijing is an ancient city with a long history. Back in 3000 years ago in Zhou dynasty, Beijing, which was called Ji , had been the capital of Yan. Thereafter, Liao, Jin, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties all made Beijing their capital. Therefore, Beijing was famous as “Capital of a thousand years”. bj1   Beijing is located in the northern part of the North China Plain and its terrain is high in the northwest and low in the southeast. Major rivers flowing through the city include Yongding River, Chaobai River, Beiyun Canal and Juma River. It is with a typical continental warm temperate zone monsoon climate. The long history leaves Beijing precious cultural treasure. the Great Wall is the only man-made structure that could be seen in the space. The Summer Palace is a classic composition of ancient royal gardens, and the Forbidden City is the largest royal palaces in the world. Tiantan is where the emperor used to fete their ancestors, and also the soul of Chinese ancient constructions. The four sites above have been confirmed as world cultural heritage by UNESCO. However, the best representatives for Beijing are the Hutongs and square courtyards. Through hundreds of years, they have become symbols of Beijing’s life. The old-timey scene and modern culture are combined to present a brand new visage of Beijing. Shunyi district is located in the northeast of Beijing, 20 miles to CBD, with a total area of 1021 km² and the registered population of 983,000. bj2   Shunyi has 19 towns and 6 sub-district offices. According to Beijing Key New Towns Construction Implementation Plan of 12th Five-Year, Shunyi new town is the important node of eastern development area of Beijing, and is one of the three key new towns of the city. The town is the core area of Capital International Aviation Center, the Air Economy Industry center and the base of modern manufacturing that serve the nation and face to the world. In 12th Five-Year, Shunyi will be build up as a modern comprehensive new town with core area eradiating and driving function based on the northeast of Beijing.

Entries

Preliminary Entry must be received by 10th August 2015. The Preliminary Entry must include the events to be entered, the total number of athletes in the team, and the number of officials accompanying the team.

Final Entry is due by 24th August, 2015. The completed Final Entry must include all necessary information for each crew, including name with date of birth of each athlete, all team members and substitutes and officials.

Entry Forms for Preliminary and Final Entries are attached to this Bulletin. These should be filled in and forwarded to the Organizing Committee, with a copy to ARF headquarters, by the stipulated date.

Please note: If any crew withdraws from 3 hours before the draw until the end of the regatta, it will be fined 500 CHF or equivalent. It is only accepted due to medical reason approved by the event doctor.

Opening Time of Course

Shunyi Olympic Park will be officially open from Monday 21st September for crews to train. The course will open each day between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

Boats and Equipment

All boats and other equipment must comply with FISA Rules of Racing.

The OC will provide boats for rental in each event. Requests for renting boats should be notified in the attached Boat and Oars Rental Form on or before 24th August 2015.

Rental boats will be allocated by random boat draw.

The boat rental charges are as follows (USD/ per boat / per day):

The blades of all oars/sculls must be painted on both sides in the colors of the respective Federations.

Though oars and sculls can be provided upon request ($10 USD/ per day), each team is highly recommended to bring their own oars and sculls.

Teams wishing to transport their own boats to Beijing should notify the Organizing Committee at an early stage.

Accreditation

In order to reduce the time taken for accreditation processing, all teams are requested to complete the accreditation forms and send these to the Organizing Committee together with digital passport size photographs of each team member before 5th September 2015. This should include coaches and team officials.

An Overview of Shunyi Olympic Rowing-Canoeing Park

Covering a planned area of 162.59 hectares and a floor area of 32,000 square meters, Shunyi Olympic Rowing-Canoeing Park is designated as the venue for rowing, canoeing and marathon swimming competitions of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, and also rowing events during the Beijing Paralympics.

The park measures 2,900 meters in length (south-north), 330 meters wide at the northern end, and 900 meters wide at the southern end. It is divided into slalom and flatwater sections, which are located, respectively, in the southwestern and eastern parts of the park. While the former is designated for Olympic canoe/kayak-slalom competitions, the latter is reserved for Olympic rowing, canoe/kayak (flatwater) and marathon swimming, as well as Paralympic rowing events.

The 16th Asian Rowing Championship will consist of the following events:

Event Groupings:

The events will be divided into two Groups, A and B for scheduling purposes. Where the two Groups are run on the same day, they would be held as separate sessions, e.g. Group A in the morning; Group B in the afternoon.

Transport

Teams will be greeted at the Beijing International Airport upon arrival and escorted to their hotel. For this purpose all teams should fill in and send the form of the Last Transport Information to the Organising Committee before 5th September, 2015.

Accommodation

Bookings should be made through the Organizing Committee by 10th August, 2015. The hotel reservation form is attached with this bulletin. Hotel Cost (including transport and all meals) is payable to the Organizing Committee and due on arrival and no later than prior to the first race.
