Message from President Wang Shi

Dear all National Federations,
On behalf of the Asian Rowing Federation, I would like to extend my congratulations to all of the athletes and teams that competed and, for those who were successful in their attempts, qualify for this year’s Olympic games in Brazil.
The collective performance of these elite athletes at the 2016 Asia and Oceania Continental Olympic Qualification Regatta, Chung-ju, Korea gives nations and athletes across Asia and Oceania a great sense of pride.
The Asian rowers that represented their countries and our continent in Korea were outstanding ambassadors for our sport. They also serve as inspiration for us by encouraging to set goals.
I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all of those National Federations that have directly qualified for the Olympics at this qualification regatta. They are: China, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Iraq, Iran, Japan, Kazakhstan, Korea, Singapore, Thailand, Uzbekistan, and Vietnam.
I would also like to congratulate FISA and the Korean Rowing Association on a wonderfully organized competition and to acknowledge the efforts of coaches, trainers, staff, volunteers and athlete families that have supported our athletes on the road to the Rio Olympics. You have and continue to provide our athletes with the support they need to be successful at national, regional and world competitions.
