The Fuyang Water Sports Center, located on the south bank of the north branch of the Fuchun River, is set to be the venue for rowing competitions at the upcoming Hangzhou Asian Games. On April 14th, Chen Chunxin, president of the Asian Rowing Federation, Liu Dehai, Secretary-General of the ARF, and Wing Ning Victor NG(Hong Kong), Technical Delegate of the Hangzhou Asian Games visited the competition venue to ensure that the athletes participating in these events have the best possible performance, and had meetings with the officials of the Hangzhou Asian Games Organising Committee(HAGOC).

Prior to the meeting, they visited the competition venue and observed the 2023 Chinese National Spring Rowing Championship, known as the “Exciting Hangzhou” Goat Sports Cup.

Accompanied by Bao Guocan, Executive Deputy Commander of the Fuyang Water Sports Center, the officials were impressed by the environment, facilities, equipment, and overall work at the venue. The teams are fully prepared and have the confidence and ability to host the three aquatic events of the Asian Games.

During the meeting, Chen Chunxin expressed his appreciation for the staff’s hard work and praised the center’s facilities. During the meeting with the HAGOC, he emphasized the importance of further improving the venue in a high-quality and comprehensive way, including measuring the level of hardware and software quality and preparing authoritative inspection reports. This will guarantee that the Hangzhou Asian Games is well-prepared to host the rowing competitions, providing an unforgettable experience for athletes and spectators alike.

The 19th Hangzhou Asian Games will be staged in Hangzhou, China from September 23rd to October 8th, 2023 and the rowing events are scheduled to take place from September 20th to 25th at Fuyang Water Sports Center.
