Rio 2016 Olympic Rowing Regatta finished last week. All 14 Categories had been completed during the eight-day regatta that began on 6 August and went through two days of postponements due to windy weather of Rio. Overall 21 countries won medals.
Overall Great Britain from Europe won the medal table No.1 with three golds and two silvers. Germany from Europe and New Zealand from Oceania get second position both winning two golds and one silver. Australia from Oceania at the fourth with one gold and two silvers.
For Asian countries, China won 2 bronzes at W1x (Duan Jingli)and LW2x(Pan Feihong, Huang Wenyi). At 2012 London China won one Sliver for Asia and 2008 China got one Gold and one sliver. Before that 1996 Atlanta Olympic in US China won the first silver metal.
In 2020, the 32th Summer Olympic Games will come back to Asia again. Japan Tokyo stands on the stage of the Rio at closing ceremony. Asian Rowing will have another great 4 years development leading by the Olympic Movement.
